The Future of Work Is Fractional — And It’s Already Here

Corporate is restructuring. Independent operators are positioned to win.

The future is fractional work, and the early wave is starting NOW. For those of you who are self-employed or work on a contract basis, this is for you.

As a former professor at Pepperdine University, I’m gonna break it down for you really simply:

1) Companies are starting to see the dramatic insufficiencies, lack of cohesiveness, and how clunky and ineffective the W-2 staff model can be.

2) Based on my research, this post-Covid world, mixed with global events, the rise of automation/AI, and the trends of major industries, we are setting up to see a dramatic change in how corporate work happens and how employment functions.

3) More and more large companies are hiring fractional and contract employees. It’s closing the efficiency gap, and it’s less money for them.

NOTE: That’s not bad news for us as business owners. We can make a lot more with a few corporate contracts than being a W2. One of my clients has six corporate clients on retainer at $10,000 a month. You do the math.

ACTION: Entrepreneurs and contractors, we need you to be doing your best right now. Cultivating your relationships, expanding your network, leaning into opportunities, and establishing yourself as a resource in your communities.

There are so many ways to do this. It’s not about finding the way everyone else has found. It’s about you really looking at your relationships and seeing how you can provide a value-add to a mission and vision of what a company is already doing.

I am rooting each of you on. What you/we do is incredibly important and vital to the future of our economic growth. We need you to do what you do best.
