Five Urgent Reminders for Entrepreneurs
It's a Journey, Not a Destination.
Context
When I left a lucrative and successful career as an executive and took my coaching business full-time 7 years ago, it was on the heels of the death of a dear friend. There was a voice inside that said something had to change. I had no idea what would happen with my business or where it would go; I just knew that this was something I had to do. That I wanted to do.
I closed the exit doors and I made a commitment to give my business 12 months of full-out effort and focus. Fortunately, I played it right and I hired a coach to help me create the business from day one. It was profitable in the first quarter, and I haven't looked back.
As the 7th anniversary of Three Beats comes up, I'm gathering data and stories of all that's been learned and all that's culminated in that time. I tend to support a lot of entrepreneurs because they are drawn to my experience and to my way of thinking.
Recently, a former client in our paid subscription asked for some key reminders that all entrepreneurs need. I thought it was a fantastic question. That's what this is dedicated to.
Buckle up, get your journal out, and read on!

Five Urgent Reminders for Entrepreneurs
It's important to remember that entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart, and it’s certainly not a one-size-fits-all path. But for those who choose it, the journey offers unparalleled opportunities for inner expansion and personal growth.
Here are the top 5 reminders for all entrepreneurs, regardless of how long they've been in business:
Entrepreneurship is a Catalyst for Personal Growth. Your business can only expand as much as you are willing to grow. The more you evolve internally, oftentimes the greater your external success. Use everything for your learning, growth, and enrichment.
It’s a Journey, Not a Destination. Many entrepreneurs wonder why they haven’t hit certain milestones yet. The truth? There’s no fixed timeline. Success comes through experience, resilience, and time. You can always readjust your own goals and expectations.
Businesses Grow in Stages—Let Yourself Be Where You Are. Just like people, businesses evolve from infancy to maturity. Trying to rush this process only leads to frustration. Embrace your current stage and the lessons it brings. Be where you are - and celebrate it. Hire support depending on what your unique needs are in your current phase.
Your Past Experience Holds Value. Every skill you’ve acquired—whether in leadership, community building, strategy, or communication—contributes to your business. Recognize the wealth of experience you bring to the table. ***For our paid membership, the worksheet is provided below for this, called "Know Your Worth."***
Take a Deep Breath and Trust the Process. Entrepreneurship isn’t linear. Each challenge and lesson is valuable. Release the pressure for instant results and allow the journey to unfold in its own time.
Success isn’t about arriving at a specific place—it’s about continually learning, evolving, and embracing the process. If you are an entrepreneur, what stage of the journey are you in right now?
